President – Representing Citadelle Cooperative
Cécile B. Pichette has a Bachelor’s degree in Education and worked in the primary education sector for 35 years. As a well-known maple producer, she has been a member of the board of directors of the Citadelle Cooperative since 2002, where she also held the position of vice-president in 2007. Ms. Pichette has been a member of SOCODEVI’s board of directors since 2007 and was elected president in 2016.
Vice-president – Representing the Confédération québécoise des coopératives d’habitation (CQCH)
Jocelyne Rouleau is a lawyer by training and holds a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) from Université Laval. With 20 years of expertise in the Quebec housing industry, she is the Executive Director of the Confédération québécoise des coopératives d’habitation (CQCH). Ms. Rouleau has been a member of SOCODEVI’s Board of Directors since 2007.
Secretary – Representing the Fédération québécoise des coopératives forestières du Québec (FQCF)
Jocelyn Lessard is a forestry engineer who graduated in 1981 from the Faculty of Forestry at Université Laval. He has been the Executive Director of the Fédération québécoise des coopératives forestières du Québec (FQCF) since 1999. Mr. Lessard has been on the SOCODEVI Board of Directors since 2002.
Treasurer – Representing SSQ
Pierre Genest has worked for SSQ, Société d’Assurance-Vie, for more than 30 years, holding key positions including President-General Manager from 1991 to 2001. In addition, from 2002 to 2006, he was the President-General Manager of the Fonds de solidarité FTQ. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Université Laval and is also a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the American Society of Actuaries. Mr. Genest has been a SOCODEVI director since 2006.
Director – Representing the Fédération des coopératives d’alimentation du Québec (FCAQ)
Clément Asselin holds a master’s degree in educational administration, a field in which he worked for more than 30 years. Since 1982, he has held various positions in the Quebec cooperative movement, including being a director of the Fédération des coopératives d’alimentation du Québec (FCAQ), and president of the Montmagny food cooperative. Mr. Asselin has been a SOCODEVI director since 2007.
Director – Representing the Agropur Dairy Cooperative
Stéphanie Benoit holds a Bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics and, since 2015, has been a member of the board of directors for the Agropur dairy cooperative. For 14 years, she has been a producer and farm manager in the poultry and dairy sectors. Ms. Benoit has been a member of SOCODEVI’s Board of Directors since 2017.
Director – Representing the Fédération des coopératives de services à domicile et de santé du Québec
Benoît Caron has 30 years of experience in business development and management, including nearly 25 years in cooperative development. Having completed studies in administration, law, and communications, he has been Executive Director of the Fédération des coopératives de services à domicile et de santé du Québec for the last ten years. Mr. Caron became a member of SOCODEVI’s Board of Directors in 2017.
Director – Representing La Coop fédérée
Cathy Fraser has a degree in civil engineering technology and worked for 10 years in this field before becoming, in 2006, a shareholder of Ferme Galyco SENC in Lac-aux-Sables, Mauricie. She has been a director at La Coop fédérée since 2015 and is also a member of the first Board of Directors for La Coop Novago, which will be launched in 2018. Since 2016, Ms. Fraser has held a seat on the SOCODEVI board.
Director – Representing the Fédération des coopératives funéraires du Québec
Michel Lafleur holds a PhD in Business Administration (DBA) and a Master’s degree in Cooperative Management and Development from Université de Sherbrooke. He is President of the Fédération des coopératives funéraires du Québec (FCFQ). Mr. Lafleur has been a member of SOCODEVI’s Board of Directors since 2015.
Director – Representing Promutuel Insurance
Suzanne Mailhot is a specialist in the field of organizational development and strategic business planning. Since 1990, she has served on various boards of directors and advisory boards as a consultant and facilitator. Since 2011, she has been a member of Promutuel Insurance’s Board of Directors and she is Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Promutuel Insurance Bois-Francs. Ms. Mailhot has been a director of SOCODEVI and the SOCODEVI Foundation since 2013.
Director – Representing Humania Assurance
Stéphane Rochon has a wealth of expertise in business management and digital strategy development. As a graduate from Université Laval with an MBA (E-Commerce) and from McGill University, he has served on several boards of directors and currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Humania Assurance. Mr. Rochon has been a SOCODEVI director since 2017.
Director – Representing La Capitale
Jean St-Gelais has extensive experience as a director who has managed major files and held several strategic positions within Québec’s public administration. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Queen’s University, Kingston. He is currently Chairperson of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer at La Capitale mutuelle de l’administration publique and La Capitale groupe financier inc. Mr. St-Gelais has been a member of SOCODEVI’s Board of Directors since 2016.
Director – Representing the Fédération québécoise des coopératives en milieu scolaire (COOPSCO)
With a wealth of experience as a senior retail manager, Francis Viens has worked for a dozen years in school-based cooperatives. From 2009 to 2015, he was a member of the Board of Directors for the Fédération québécoise des coopératives en milieu scolaire, holding the position of President for four years. Since 2005, he has been General Manager of Coopsco F.X.-Garneau in Quebec City. Mr. Viens has been a SOCODEVI board member since 2010.
