Co-Up

The Co-Up platform is an online and offline tool that enables co-operatives or associations to manage their relationships with their members.

Socodevi developed the Co-Up application to address the challenges associated with promoting autonomous, profitable, sustainable, and inclusive cooperatives. This application provides a variety of management tools and supports co-operatives according to the three dimensions of the PerformCoop approach.

Benefits

Accessibility

Accessible on Android devices and on the web.

Efficiency

Normally, members sell their products to their co-operative through a delegate or collector (for cocoa) or a tracker (for cashews), which can slow down the process. With Co-Up, each co-operative registers its members and can track their field book, the type of product, and the price at which the member sells or the co-operative buys.

Security and transparency

  • Co-Up records all transactions between members and the cooperative. Each member transaction generates an indelible purchase order indicating whether it is paid or unpaid. This form serves as proof in case of dispute.

Example of Co-Up Use

In Dou Touloma (Mali), we integrated the membership lists of several cooperatives into Co-Up. This integration allows members to access the application and communicate effectively with their co-operative. The co-operative can easily track its membership registry and export it in Excel format.

Similarly, in AGROEMPRENDE CACAO (Colombia), Co-Up is highly appreciated by members and proves beneficial for the co-operative. Young members are particularly inclined to use the application and can support others in learning to use it. A communication committee was established to allow young members to meet and dedicate time to using the application.

Because each cooperative has unique needs, the modular design of Co-Up is invaluable.
