Supportive Voices

“During my fourth mission, focused on women’s leadership, I witnessed the excellent work of Socodevi’s field team in Morocco. The encounters I experienced allowed me to better understand the challenges of women’s leadership and the approaches put in place to address them. Already, many women are awakening and aspire to become influential leaders in their communities. They want to empower themselves, and they draw inspiration from our experience in Canada.

Socodevi’s team responds to this need by enabling them to meet women leaders from Quebec’s agricultural and rural sectors — invaluable sources of inspiration.”

  • Céline Delhaes
Board Member at Agropur and President at Socodevi

“Since its creation, Socodevi has developed expertise in nature-based solutions by building co-operative synergies in agroforestry, agriculture, and the environment. Your organization has achieved concrete results in reducing poverty and increasing women’s empowerment. In today’s context, establishing co-operative systems is more necessary than ever. I encourage you to continue your work with the same passion in the years ahead.”

Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie, Minister Responsible for the Status of Women (2022–2025)

“In Casamance, soil salinization is reducing crop yields. Women — who plant and cultivate the fields — are the most affected. Thanks to the training offered by Socodevi, they are learning to adapt their crops and to become leaders capable of defending their community’s interests.

During my mission with local populations, I saw women gain confidence, break barriers, and propose concrete solutions to improve the lives of their families. I hope many more women, in Senegal and elsewhere, will have access to these life-changing tools.”
