HONOR

Honouring the Contribution of Rural Women to Ukraine’s Agri-Food Systems

Project Summary

With the HONOR project, Socodevi contributes to the inclusive and sustainable recovery of Ukraine’s agri-food systems by relying on the co-operative model, gender equality, and climate-smart agriculture to secure incomes, markets, and local governance.

The project supports producers in rebuilding their livelihoods through stronger co-operatives, sustainable practices, and essential collective services—processing, energy, childcare, and training—for the benefit of rural communities.

Objectives

  • Strengthen climate adaptation and food security in dairy, horticulture, grain, and honey value chains
  • Empower 5,000 women and other vulnerable groups so they can anticipate, adapt, recover, and exercise leadership roles
  • Rebuild and consolidate 50 co-operatives so they can offer inclusive, gender-responsive, and environmentally resilient products and services
  • Strengthen integration into national and international markets by aligning practices with European requirements and supporting Ukraine’s integration into the European Union
  • Lead policy dialogue and advocacy in favor of equality, resilience, and inclusive governance

Partners
