Food Systems Resilience Strengthening Program

projet socodevi au ghana

Project Summary

Implemented by Socodevi with the support of the World Food Programme (WFP) and regional government institutions, the Food Systems Resilience Strengthening Project (P2RSA) is based on an integrated approach that combines agricultural resilience, nutrition, economic development and co-operative governance.

Over a 12-month period, the project aims to strengthen food and nutrition security for the most vulnerable populations, particularly children aged 6 to 23 months, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and households living below the poverty line.

The project simultaneously addresses several dimensions of food systems, including improving agricultural production (cereals and cash crops), supporting the local processing of nutritious foods (particularly fortified flour), promoting healthy nutrition practices and strengthening the economic capacities of vulnerable households.

By combining climate-resilient agriculture, nutrition, agri-food processing, functional literacy, women’s economic empowerment and the strengthening of co-operative organizations, the project contributes to building more resilient, nutrition-sensitive agricultural and food systems. It sustainably improves the livelihoods of vulnerable households while strengthening food and nutrition security in the Mayo-Kebbi Est province.
