Strong'HER

Project Summary

Through this project, Socodevi strengthens the capacity of rural and urban women in Ethiopia to develop and adopt climate-resilient practices. Strong’HER also promotes their active participation in decision-making processes to exercise greater control over resources and benefits, while expanding their networks to strengthen their individual and collective resilience.

Objectives

  • Reduce the vulnerability of women farmers and their families to the impacts of climate change
  • Decrease climate vulnerability of women involved in teff and legume value chains
  • Improve the effectiveness of public and private stakeholders in supporting gender-responsive climate adaptation

Testimonials

“Technical training, access to improved technologies, and the development of structured markets not only increase production, they also improve the profitability of small-scale women farmers and entrepreneurs.”
