It’s the thousands of families supported by SOCODEVI around the world that were the big winners of the 13th annual golf tournament held for the benefit of the SOCODEVI foundation. More than $55,000 was raised thanks to the generosity of participants and the contribution of SSQ Assurance. René Hamel, chairperson of the SSQ Assurance board of directors, was the honorary chairperson for the event.
Last August, under a radiant sun, more than 150 cooperators and mutualists met at the Drummondville golf club to make a solid gesture in support of the SOCODEVI mission.

Special contribution for a project in Ghana
A portion of the amount raised, more than $16,000, will be used for the refurbishment of a training centre for young girls in rural Ghana. The work will provide improved furniture and equipment to help pursue their studies, as well as renovated bathrooms and dormitories. This upgrade will provide for a centre that is better adapted to the needs of these young women.
