The Co-op Week was recognized by UV Mutuelle, an institutional member of the SOCODEVI network, with a contribution of $60,000 to the SOCODEVI Foundation. This donation will allow for the implementation of a natural juice manufacturing plant to profit members of the agricultural cooperatives we support in Vietnam.

“It is important financial support for the producers of the Ben Tre province. These families can count on a modern installation to process fruits such as pomelo, pitaya, coconut or grapes. The extraction and marketing of fruit juices will allow for value to be added to all fruit categories produced by the members of the cooperatives, ultimately increasing their revenues,”
affirms Gaby Breton, manager of the VCED-SOCODEVI project in Vietnam.

For its part, UV Mutuelle is proud of its role as a contributor to SOCODEVI’s mission for many years. “Solidarity is an important value for our mutual, and for ourselves. To see producers in Vietnam uniting around a structured project proves the strength and value of the cooperative model, to which we ourselves have adhered to for 130 years,” emphasized Christian Mercier, President-General Manager of the organization.

SOCODEVI has been present in Vietnam for more than 15 years through various support programs. With the current VCED project (development of cooperative enterprises), we are contributing to improvements in the quality of life for 10,000 agricultural families by supporting the development of five model cooperatives oriented to the needs of the market.
