Reinventing the future for paid care workers in Central America

What’s TRASOL? In a nutshell, it’s SOCODEVI’s new innovative social justice initiative to make a real difference in Guatemala and Honduras. With financial backing from the Canadian government, our teams will spend the next several years working to improve the living conditions of 4,500 women and 1,250 young girls who are paid care workers in both countries.
Women’s cooperatives in Morocco: an inspiring exchange!
On August 26–28, 2024, the Resilient Women in the Middle Atlas (FERMA) project organized a series of highly rewarding exchanges among several women’s cooperatives in the Middle Atlas region. This event, led by SOCODEVI in partnership with Morocco’s national water and forestry agency (ANEF) and with financial backing from the Government of Canada, is one of our many efforts to empower women financially and help them sustainably manage natural resources.
Generating resilience through collective actions!

The resilience generated by collective actions and the cooperative model was at the heart of discussions at the event "Solidarity-based actions for the resilience of agri-food systems and smallholder farmers", held on May 31 at McGill University in the presence of the President of the United Nations' International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Alvaro Lario.

Spotlight on SOCODEVI’s activities in Senegal
The teams in Senegal were very busy this past November, with three field visits from Global Affairs Canada, parliamentarians and the Canadian ambassador to Senegal!
Co-ops in bloom in Mozambique!
SOCODEVI in Mozambique has accomplished quite a feat this year! Our efforts helped create two new multi-regional cooperatives and further the development of the Mozambican Association for the Promotion of Modern Cooperativism (AMPCM).
