Gender Equality
SOCODEVI is committed to integrating women into the formal economy by facilitating their access to and control over resources and benefits. We build cooperative and associative enterprises that become catalysts for strengthening women’s empowerment and reducing inequalities.
Our Approach
Family Enterprises
Men and women are made aware of gender equality issues and learn about joint management of the family enterprise. This helps challenge gender stereotypes and discriminatory norms and practices.
Cooperative Enterprises
Organizations are supported in integrating gender equality into their practices in order to become profitable and sustainable. SOCODEVI supports inclusive governance within management and decision-making structures by helping organizations develop gender equality action plans and by promoting institutional tools that foster inclusiveness.
Stakeholders
We develop strategic partnerships with public and private organizations, and inform them of the equality issues and obstacles encountered by women in the economic sectors we address. This creates a business and institutional environment conducive to inclusive economic development.
Women Leaders
Women are able to strengthen their management and cooperative entrepreneurship abilities and become the leaders of their family enterprises, organizations and communities.
SOCODEVI became in 2021 the first Canadian international cooperation organization certified carbon neutral !
